What is Dave’s Compass of Hope?

Dave’s Compass of Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2019 in memory of David Arkins who left this world in October 2018. Our organization works to mitigate the stigma that surrounds mental health by working with organizations that help educate, support, and coach those dealing with mental illnesses. We hope that with your support, we can make a difference and help those struggling find the help they need. We are proud to have partnered with organizations such as NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to continue to achieve our mission. We believe together, we can continue to make a difference, and bring awareness to the mental illnesses that others struggle with. To learn more about us, click here.

Since our inception, and thanks to our generous community support, we have raised and donated over $30,000 that went to support resources for those dealing with mental illness. We are proud of our accomplishments and are incredibly grateful to those who supported us and our cause.

Remember, you are never alone. If you find yourself struggling with a mental illness, please check out these invaluable resources from our partner, NAMI Minnesota, here. No one should have to fight these problems alone. We are here to help.

If you or a loved one is at risk of suicide, please call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.

Fourth Annual Dave’s Compass of Hope Golf Tournament 2023

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our fourth annual Dave’s Compass of Hope Golf Tournament at Ridges and Sand Creek on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Our tournament will once again feature the scramble format, followed by a short program and banquet.

Thank You for a Successful Inaugural 2020 Event

We were thrilled to host our first annual golf open and bags tournament on September 25th, 2020. We hosted a completely sold out event at Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Course in Jordan, MN. Guests were welcome to fun games on the course, many raffle items, a Silent Auction, and Live Auction. Together, with the support of our community, we were able to raise a $15,000 donation to NAMI Minnesota. We are just getting started and can’t wait to continue to bring awareness to this ever important topic!
